I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing you to ask for your support of the 2nd Annual Burger King Breast Cancer Awareness Truck and Tractor Pull. As you probably know, I am an avid participant in the Battle of the Bluegrass Tractor Pulling Series, and I am the coordinator of the 2nd Annual Burger King Breast Cancer Awareness Truck and Tractor Pull which will be held at the Hardin County Fair Grounds, October 11 & 12. Before I get into the specifics of the pull I would like to give you some background information as to why breast cancer awareness is so important to myself and family.
My wife, Carolyn, is a cancer survivor and is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer. Her first diagnosis was in the winter of 1999. At that time she had a mass in her right breast with positive lymphnoids which led to a single mastectomy with lymphnoid removal. Carolyn was cancer free for 11 years; in May of 2010 we received news that the cancer was back and more agressive than ever. In the summer of 2010 Carolyn started several months of intense chemotherapy and had radiation on her brain, for the cancer had spread to her brain and other places. Carolyn again under went intense radiation on her brain in the summer of 2012. This time, the radiation, but mostly the grace of God, worked and the spots on her brain are gone! Carolyn still has cancer in other places in her body and continues to receive chemotherapy in Louisville every three weeks.."
All net proceeds from the 2nd Annual Burger King Breast Cancer Awareness Truck and Tractor Pull will go to the Susan G. Komen Fund of Louisville. Last year the pull was able to donate a little over $14,000 to this fund! This honorable donation was only made possible because of sponsorships from people like you! I come to you asking for your help for this year's pull. Sponsorship starts at $500 and go up to $1,500, but any and all contributions are accepted. All monies donated to the Susan G. Komen Fund, Louisville are used here locally, so your donation will be helping those in your community and possibly some of those nearest and dearest to you. I have attached a flyer that contains more specific information regarding sponsorship.
As you can see, my family, especially my wife, have been greatly affected by this horrid thing called "breast cancer." Your support to this year's pull would be greatly appreciated; if you would like to be a sponsor or make a donation please contact me at timhornback+rocketmail+com or at 270-300-8636.
